OverviewThe museum houses the collections that have been collected from around the world over 60 years by Satoh Senju, the chief director of the Satoh Art craft research & scholarship foundation. They are various works including earthenware, ceramics, Buddha statues, bronze and jade artifact. Kosomezuke or porcelain made by Hamada Shoji and Shimaoka Tatsuzo, and India and Pakistan Buddha statues are large volumes of the collection. It also houses a collection of Nishiki-e or color-printed Ukiyo-e made by Katsushika Hokusai and Ando Hiroshige, which has connection with the place of Senju. The curator, Hayashi Katsuhiko said "The foundation was established as a part of the community service for the purpose of international exchange and cultural improvement. I hope it will help to revitalize the city." There is a nice relaxed teahouse,"Myoko" run by Adachi disability organization, "Yuai-kai" next to the museum.
