Senju Seven Lucky Gods Tour
Date: for 7 days from the New Year
Places: Hon-hikawa-jinja shrine, Okawacho-hikawa-jinja shrine, Motojuku-jinja shrine, Senju-jinja shrine, Hachiman-jinja shrine, Kawaramachi-Inari-jinja shrine, Nakacho-hikawa-jinja shrine
It is about 2km course to go around the temples while collecting Goshuin or red stamp given at each temple. When you get Shikishi or the thick square paper on which all seven goshuin are stamped and display it for one year, it is said that you will get rid of seven misfortunes and get seven fortunes instead.

Iko Seven Lucky Gods Tour
Date: for 7 days from the New Year
Place: Jisso-In temple, Fukuju-In temple Genshoji temple, Houjuji temple
It is the tour to visit the Seven Lucky Gods enshrined respectively in the four temples in Iko district. It takes about an hour or two.

Enma opening

Enma-Daio or the king of hell, which is usually closed to visitors, can be seen with the door of Enma hall open. Tradition says that Enma-Daio will pardon us and cure all diseases, especially sick of a throat.

Hatsu Daishi, Dharma Ichi

Place: Nishi-Arai Daishi
On the day of Hatsu-Daishi or the first temple festival, the eleven-faced Kannon will be open to the public and dharma dolls will be sold in the precincts, which attract many people.
Prince Shotoku Festival

Place: Genshoji temple
The only temple in Adachi has the Taishi-do hall where Shotoku Taishi is enshrined. On the day of the Pince Shotoku Festival, the hanging scroll of Prince Shotoku will be burned over a sacred fire for invocation.

Dharma memorial service

Place: Nishi-Arai Daishi
The rare event of the temple in Tokyo, Dharma memorial service has been held from 1954. The dharma to which people have prayed for good business, etc. for one year, is brought into the service.

Ume Festival
Dates: the early of the month
Place: Oyata Park
It is the popular festival in spring held at the time for flowering at Oyata park where a total of about 170 plum trees are in bloom.

Shobu Festival & World Food Square

Place: Shobu-numa park - Toritsu Higashi-Ayase Park (pigeon park)
The stamp rally is held at both parks, one is Shobu-Numa Park where about 140 varieties of 8,100 Irises are in full bloom and another is East Ayase Park (pigeon park) where you can taste international cuisine.

Firefly Minaito! (Night)

It is a night firefly viewing gathering. You can closely see the fireflies that are released in the box 2 meters square.

Adachi traditional crafts exhibition

Adachi traditional crafts have been nurtured and been inherited from many generations in a long history of the place. We bring them together and give a demonstration of them.

Shishimai (called Gokito-Shishimai), or lion dance is dedicated in order to pray for warding off evils, world peace and a rich harvest in the precincts.

We will hold a haiku lesson for school children in Entenji temple where the Issa Festival, national elementary and junior high school students haiku competition is held.

Shikahama Lion Dance
Dates: the middle of the month
Place: Shima Hikawa Jinja shrine / Kojiya Hikawa Jinja shrine / Tenso Jinja shrine / Shikahama Kitano Jinja shrine
The 4 shrines in Shikahama district have conducted a ritual in rotation. The 3 kinds of Shishi or lion, such as large size, medium size and lioness, and 4 Hanagasa-shu or people dance to the sound of drums and flute. It has been handed down as a ritual performing art to pray for peace and tranquility in the village.

Senju festival

Place: Senju district around Old Nikko Kaido
Autumn Festival will be held in each town in Senju around the second Saturday and Sunday or the third Saturday and Sunday of September every year. You can feel the festival mood in the shopping street or around Kita-Senju station decorated with many Andon or paper-covered lamp written pun on it.

Hashido Inari Jinja shrine festival (Stucco painting made by Chohachi Izu is in public)

Place: Hashido Inari Jinja shrine
You can see the stucco painting, parent-child fox left in the main hall door, which was made by Chohachi Izu.

Shimane Bayashi
Dates: the middle of the month
Place: Shimane Washi Jinja shrine
Old festival music derived from Kanda-Bayashi is said to be older than Kasai-Bayashi.
Kita-Adachi Market festival

Tori-no-Ichi festival
Date: The day of the Rooster
Place: Hanahata Otori Jinja shrine / Shimane Washi Jinja shrine
Tori-Daimyojin of Hanamata (current Hanahata) originated in Edo Tori-no-Ichi festival. It is said that it has about 600 years of history. Tori-no-Ichi festival is also held in Shimane Washi Jinja shrine. On the second day of the Rooster, Jindai Kagura or a sacred ritual of music and dance passed down to the locals, can be seen at the shrine.

Issa Festival (Frog sumo/Haiku competition among nationwide elementary and junior high school students)

The event is held to introduce Haiku poem unique to Japanese culture at Enten-ji temple which is closely connected with Issa Kobayashi, a famous haiku poet in the Edo period.

Luminous Festival

About 700,000 illuminations will color Takenotsuka area. Events such as local product exhibition and stage show will be held at Motofuchie Park, the main venue.

Yukizuri
Dates: the early of the month
Place: Hanahata Memorial Garden
The well-known beautiful winter landscape of Yukizuri or fixing the branches of black pine trees by suspended ropes to protect them against snow before winter, can be seen at Hanahata Memorial Garden.

Adachi Traditional Crafts Exhibition / Adachi Local Industrial Products Fair

We will exhibit and sell traditional crafts that have been nurtured and inherited in a long history and climate, including leather products such as shoes and local industrial products such as printed products.

Osame-no Daishi

The last event of the year is held especially to pray for good business. In the precincts, there are stalls selling rakes and dharma dolls attract many visitors.
Toneri Bunka Market (Gobo-Ichi)

We revived the local market which had been held in Toneri district from the Edo period. Many local products including vegetables fresh from the area are sold in the precincts.
