Overview |
There used to be three Inari-jinja shrines (Higashino-miya, Hondano-miya and Nishino-miya) and Hikawa-jinja shrine in Yagoro-shinden village (Adachi 2,3-chome, Nishi-Ayase 1,2,3-chome, Kodo 1,2-chome, Aoi 3-chome, Hinodecho, etc.). According to the record of the beginning of the Meiji era, Nishino-miya was a branch shrine of Hondano Inari-jinja shrine in the center of the village. After that, the precincts of Hondano-miya were reclaimed as the riverbed of the Arakawa drainage channel, so it was enshrined together in Nishino-miya in 1912, and Nishinomiya became the leading village shrine of the area. The current Nishinomiya Inari-jinja shrine enshrines Ukanomitama-no Mikoto and Susanoo-no Mikoto in the main shrine after Higashino-miya was enshrined together in 1870. In addition, Takemikazuchi-no Kami, Sugawara-no Michizane, and Mizuhanome-no Kami are enshrined respectively at three shrines in the precincts, and Sengen-jinja shrine with Fujizuka mound (Adachi registered tangible folk cultural property) enshrines Konohanasakuyahime-no Mikoto. |
