Mystery Hunter

As autumn goes on, it is tough to wake up in the morning.
In November, the town starts to change the decoration into Christmas.
Although I think it is a bit early to change every year, it is not bad in the sense that it tells us the end of the year.

The illumination that beautifully colors the city at night is also the real pleasure of this season.
However, what is bothering me as a mystery hunter arises at this time of year.

"Can I see the new year?"

As the city becomes busy like this, people does not care about the mystery.

Prururururururu ......!

Oops, it seems like my job.

"Hello! this is Adachi Mystery Hunter ... ......... Yes ... .... Bicycle? ...... In Takenotsuka ............ Yes ... but it has become cold lately ...... what, stamp rally ... Well, the mystery is ... fun ? ... Yes ............ I understand ... .... "

This time, Takenotsuka Stamp Rally is an order!?

I got a phone call from Adachi City Tourism and Exchange Association as usual.
The details of the request are as follows.

【The details of the request】
Travel through "Takenotsuka with a stamp rally on foot"; however, you should use "Adachari".

"Takenotsuka stamp rally" means going to 10 attractive sights where the stamp was set to collect stamps, while fully enjoying Takenotsuka.
If you collect more than 7 stamps, you can get a souvenir.

And "Adachari" means a community cycle where you can share a bicycle at 3 sharing bicycle parking lots in Adachi.
It is a good service that you can rent a bike at 200 yen per a day, which is often used for sightseeing and business.

I am good at using my bean, but not good at using my body.
However, when I was a child I treated my bicycle as if it were part of my body. Let's do it!
I immediately headed for "Takenotsuka West bicycle parking lot (I point)" and rented a bike. And what's more, I could get "I stamp" here.
But at this point, I did not notice that... ....
there was a tragedy in this stamp rally journey......

Takenotsuka map
The image is "Takenotsuka Map with stamp rally". It is also used as a stamp sheet as well as a map. It has spot information other than the stamp point and a column of Takenotsuka area. So that is an essential item when you walk around Takenotsuka.

【Stamp A ~ C point】 Keenly realize lack of daily exercise!

Adachi Mystery Hunter
Shirahatazuka Shiseki Park (C point)

"Takenotsuka West bicycle parking lot (I point)" Then, I left for Motofuchie Park.
In Motofuchie Park, there is "Adachi Park of living things (A point)".
This is a popular spot in Adachi where you can touch cute little animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs and you can watch amphibians and reptiles as well as Hercules beetles.
I found a stamp at the entrance of "Adachi Park of living things (A point)".

I wanted to heal my tired body by touching fluffy animals, but I am scheduled to finish the stamp rally today.
I had to go to the next point "Hanahata Memorial Garden, Oukatei (B point)"

"Adachi Park of living things (A point)".  It is 1.5 km north from it.
I caught myself arriving at the Kenaga River while going through a residential area.
It seemed that I had passed the next point without noticing since I was totally absorbed in pressing my feet on the pedals.
I recommend that you should frequently check the map.
"Hanahata Memorial Garden, Oukatei (B point)"  The stamp is set up at the entrance of Oukatei, and I got it without difficulty. It is going well.

 Then,"Shirahatazuka Shiseki Park (C point)"
There is the only remained ancient tomb in this area of Takenotsuka.
Legend has it that Minamoto no Yoshiie, also known as Hachimantaro fought raising a white flag when he conquered Oshu in the middle of the 11th century.
"Shirahatazuka Shiseki Park (C point)" Then, it is necessary to enter the park to find a stamp.
With this process, you can explore sightseeing spots naturally. Now I got four stamps of A, B, C and I.

However, due to lack of daily exercise, I feel that thighs are getting heavier little by little at a mileage of around 5 km ....
Stamp rally is unexpectedly hard.

[Mileage] Approximately 5.1 km

Takenotsuka West bicycle parking lot → Motofuchie Park (about 1.6 km)
Motofuchie Park → Hanahata Memorial Garden, Oukatei (about 1.5 km)
Hanahata Memorial Garden, Oukatei → Shirahatazuka Shiseki Park (about 2 km)

【Stamp D ~ F point】 Route with full of sights, such as Teramachi and Minumadai Shinsui Park

Mystery Hunter
Higashi Iko's Teramachi (photo is Zenkyu-ji Temple)

"Shirahatazuka Shiseki Park (C point)" → "Iko Iseki Park (D point)"  This route passes through "Higashi-Iko Teramachi" with a historical atmosphere, so you can enjoy a completely different charm from before.
It can also be said as a highlight of this stamp rally.

The 13 temples and shrines, such as Iko Hikawa-jinja, Houju-ji, Igyo-in and Zenkyu-ji etc. are gathered in this area. The stone pavement and the waterway through the area will make you feel solemn.
Pedaling a bicycle while thinking about the history of Takenotsuka area.
It might be fun to walk slowly in this area.
When I went through a temple town, there is a next goal, "Iko Iseki Park (D point)"

Going about 700 meters ahead, there is  "Minumadai Shinsui Park (E point)"
"Minumadai Shinsui Park (E point)" is a walking path that spans 1.7 km of waterway with lush greenery.
In the spring, about 70 cherry trees along the waterway will be in full bloom.
You have to walk your bike on the path along the waterway since it is narrow. I hope you enjoy walking slowly while being showered with negative ions.

"Toneri Suwa-jinja shrine (F point)" is standing all alone on a hillside of "Minumadai Shinsui Park (E point)"
It is also a familiar place to me. When I come here, I remember a tragic love story of Kenaga-hime.
"Brother, how have you been?" I greeted him in my mind, and got a stamp.

I could traveled through the route from D to F in no time because it was easy to find the stamp point, and the scenery was great.
I forgot my thigh's pain and kept going to the next point, "Toneri Hikawa-jinja shrine (G Point)"

[Mileage] Approximately 7.3 km

Shirahatazuka Shiseki Park→ Iko Iseki Park (about 0.8 km)
Iko Iseki Park→ Minumadai Shinsui Park (about 0.7 km)
Minumadai Shinsui Park→ Toneri Suwa-jinja Shrine (about 0.7 km)

【Stamp G, H, J points】 only go south on Ogubashi street

Adachi Mystery Hunter
Toritsu Toneri Park

I went south after I got a stamp at the shrine nearby Minumadai Shinsui Park station of Toneri Liner.  "Toneri Hikawa-jinja shrine (G Point)"
I was pedaling to the next point along Ogubashi street.  "Toneri-Koen Station-shita bicycle parking lot (H point)"

It is about 2km.
It is the longest route ever.
Toritsu Toneri Park is one of the largest parks in Tokyo with fully equipped facilities, such as dog run, barbecue area and tennis court.
It is the park where you can spend a time meaningfully.

There is a stamp at the bicycle parking lot of a median strip. "Toneri-Koen Station-shita bicycle parking lot (H point)"
It says "under the station" but it is not underground, so be careful.
"Toneri-Koen Station-shita bicycle parking lot (H point)" is a place to exchange the completion prize, and a available place to return a bike here.

All right! What is left is only "Enten-ji temple (J point)" , but it will get dark soon and I have to go beyond the starting point, "Takenotsuka West bicycle parking lot (I point)"
The completion prize can be given after collecting 7 stamps out of 10.
"If I force myself to complete every route, I will have muscle strain next day. That is not good for my work".
For me, there is still a lot of mysteries to be solved!
So tell myself, and I unwillingly decided to go back to "Takenotsuka West bicycle parking lot (I point)"

[Mileage] Approximately 11.8 km

Toneri Suwa-jinja Shrine→ Toneri Hikawa-jinja Shrine (about 0.8 km)
Toneri Hikawa-jinja Shrine→ Toneri-Koen Station (about 1.9 km)
Toneri-Koen Station→ Takenotsuka West Bicycle Parking Lot (approximately 1.8 km)

A reward for finishing the stamp rally was a fantasy world

Hikari no Saiten 2018
Luminous Festival (Motofuchie Park)

It has passed noon when I started stamp rally, but it has already passed 5 p.m. when I returned to "Takenotsuka West bicycle parking lot (I point)"
It takes much time to tour each point properly, and you should be able to enjoy Takenotsuka more.
When I actually returned "Adachari", I talked to a person who kept the lot. It was like this.

"It was a busy day, how many stamps did you get?" said a parking keeper.

I said, "Collected all except J."

"Wow! ... ... did you get so many in a day?" said a keeper.

I said "... ...Yes."

"I rarely find anyone like you." said a keeper.

I said "......"

You can get a friction ballpoint pen as a completion award

This is the time when I realized that stamp rally is not made for a day tour but to be accomplished as a result of enjoying the charm of Takenotsuka.
A parking keeper might have misunderstood me as a genuine stamp rally mania.
But there is a sense of accomplishment! It made me feel refreshed now.
I was just about to go home and soak in the bathtub, and go to bed early, when the telephone rang.

Prurururururur ......!

This number is Adachi City Tourism and Exchange Association.

"Thanks for stamp rally, you did a good job! Now please go to Takenotsuka Keyaki Boulevard which leads to Motofuchie Park from Takenotsuka Station! It is a present from the association to you, Mystery Hunter who is always helping us!"

When I went on to Keyaki Boulevard as I was told, I was very surprised! I did not notice during the day, but myriad illuminations are colored this street ...! What a fantastic world!

This seems to be a part of illumination of the annual "Luminous Festival".
It looks like a fairyland (The length of the illumination along Keyaki boulevard of about 1.2 km is one of the most popular in Tokyo).

I see. The association had thought of showing me this fantastic bright fairyland after letting me fully enjoy Takenotsuka!

What a smart arrangement! If anyone could go with me, it would have been much better!

I found out later that it was the day when they had a test lighting the illumination of Luminous Festival. That is why the association wanted me to do the stamp rally on the day.
The official opening date of "Luminous Festival" is scheduled to be on 1 December 2018 (Sat), so please be careful.

I had been obsessed with collecting stamps, but it is not enough a day to enjoy Takenotsuka fully.
I want those who are reading this story, very much to come to visit Takenotsuka during the period of "Luminous Festival."
Besides the spots I visited, there are various interesting places. Please enjoy yourself thoroughly and I want you to have a romantic time at the end in "Luminous Festival"!
