What is Tsushima-uraboshi-shijimi?
In Japan, a small lycaenidae butterfly that is only about *Kaicho-2cm in size and is distributed only in the northern part of Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture. In recent years, the population has been rapidly declining due to feeding damage by deer, etc., and in 2017 it was designated as a "domestic endangered species of wild fauna and flora" under the Act on Conservation of Species. It is conserved through the steady efforts of various people, including the Ministry of the Environment, Tsushima City, citizens, and breeding facilities.
This time, we will consider the background and future of conservation in Adachi City, where Park of living things is located, which has become a base for outside the habitat conservation from emergency evacuation to breeding of this species.
