Adachi Park was built in 2004 under the concept of Belmont city "concept of Japanese garden that should commemorate the exchange between sister city Adachi Ward and Belmont city".
In Belmont city there is no frost or snow, and in the summer it is a dry area of more than 45 degrees, so moss and maple etc will not grow up. Therefore, various ingenuity is done in making a Japanese garden.
In Australia, bringing alien species is severely restricted for environmental protection. Meanwhile, in order to symbolize the connection between Adachi-ku and Belmont city, we incorporate the features of the Japanese garden into the design within the scope of the environment.
Because Belmont's sun is too strong to raise azaleas and rhododendrons, we planted Australian bottle brushes, crisp berries, pear trees, etc. Iris and Shobu are also common in Australian gardens, but the Swan River ecosystem was delicate and complex and could not be planted. Instead, I plant sage and weak elephant (Daily) which is weak in fertility.
Buildings in the park are made of steel, not wood, considering durability and manageability, but we try to design that reflects the contacts of our sister cities.
