Overview | It was founded in 1616, and the enshrined deity is Susanoo-no-Mikoto. In the main shrine, the four-sided mirror is enshrined as deity spirits. One side of which is the Four deities mirror cast in 1838, whose back has a Japanese style pattern of Seigaiha-ni-Akitsu (wave and dragonfly) (Adachi registered tangible cultural property). Sekiya Tenman-gu Shrine in the precincts enshrines Sugawara-no-Michizane as the deity. According to "Kyu-Koroku" or the old record, there was a history that Ooe Michitomo who was a barrier keeper of Sekisho established by Minamoto-no-Yoritomo who opened the Kamakura shogunate, made his ancestral mausoleum and enshrined Tenman Tenjin, and people of later generations called it Sekiya Tenjin. Sekiya Tenmangu monument was built by the disciples of Michikawa in 1807, and is also engraved with Japanese poems written by Michikawa (Adachi registered tangible cultural property). The memorial stone of Benten statue built in 1689 is enshrined in the stone shrine in the back of the precincts. It used to be enshrined in the island of the pond in the precincts, but it was replaced in the current place when the pond was filled up. (Adachi registered tangible folk cultural property) |
