Overview |
The seven standing stones located at the Arakawa riverbed, which were made from 1654 to 1736, have been registered tangible folk cultural properties in Adachi. They were collected in this place before going under water when the excavation work of Arakawa drainage canal (current Arakawa River) started in the early Taisho era. Although the name of Miyagi village in Fuchie-ryo, Bushu Adachi-gun was engraved on it, people called it Odai-no-Shichikoshin which came from the town's name, Odai and believed in it. The symbol of three wise monkeys (6 stones were engraved in relief and one was intaglio) are engraved beneath Shomen Kongo with six arms. The roof is laid to prevent them from exposing to the rain. |
