Overview | Shirahatasan Fudo-in Yakushi-ji temple is the Shingi Shingon sect temple. In the Edo period, the temple was under the control of Kichijo-in temple and was also the head of anther temple. The principal deity, Fudo Myoo was made by Kakuban, the founder of Shingi Shingon-shu. It is said that the goma hall in Jigen-ji temple became independent as a temple from it. In the precincts there are stone monuments inscribed Namu Amida Butsu in front, and Geishu on the right side. This is called Geishu memorial monuments, which was built in September 1868 to hold a memorial service for souls of dead soldiers who were engaged in the transportation of the team of Aki Hiroshima domain (Geishu domain) who participated in the Boshin War, and for the Aizu war dead around the area of Aizu-Tajima and Aizu-wakamatsu, during the Aizu war. The names of Adachi residents who lived in Rokugatsu village (current Rokugatsu and Higashi-Rokugatsu in Adachi City) are inscribed on it. (Zenhachi, Shinzo, Hachiro, Fukumatsu). There are also the tomb of Nakadaya, whose house was a rest place when Meiji Emperor visited Tohoku in 1876, and the tomb of prostitutes built by the owners of Senju-juku Hatagoya, Inn in 1860. |
