This spicy tsukemen restaurant opened along the Nikko Kaido in 2023. The owner, Mr. Fujii, trained for about eight years at Menya Taimu in Daishi-mae before going independent.

The hot soup served in a simmering stone pot is rich and full of the flavor of chicken stock and the sweetness of vegetables. It is well-mixed with the thick whole wheat noodles, which are custom-made by the long-established noodle manufacturer "Asakusa Kaikaro," and the beef tendons of the Japanese black beef are meltingly tender. You won't be able to stop eating even while wiping the sweat off your face. You can choose from high, medium, or low spiciness, and you can also add more spiciness after you start eating. They also offer a soup-dilution service, which has a strong yuzu flavor that gives a refreshing finish to the rich flavor. "Many customers dilute it with the soup and top their rice with cheese," says Fujii.

Not only is it spicy, but it also has a wonderful balance of sweetness and umami. It's a drink that you'll crave, not just in the cold season, but regardless of the temperature.

The spicy version costs 1,030 yen. It's not as spicy as it looks, and the mild spicy version is just the right level so that even those who aren't big fans of spicy food can try it.
The chicken bukkake (1,000 yen) is a non-spicy dish. Fujii-san's consideration is apparent in the fact that "this restaurant is open to those who don't like spicy food and those with children."
Fujii-san is a movie fan, and the name of the shop comes from a classic movie released in 1986.

Binti Kameari store

An Indian/Asian restaurant that has been in business for over 10 years along Kannana Dori near Kameari Station. The signature dish, Indian curry, is surprisingly varied.

You can choose from 9 types of curry for lunch and over 30 types for dinner. With 8 types of naan and 4 types of biryani, you'll be spoilt for choice. In addition to curry, they also offer a full range of Asian dishes, mainly from India and Nepal, such as samosas and chicken tikka. The spiciness of the curry ranges from mild to very spicy, with levels 1-50 available for dinner, which is a nice touch. They also offer a party course in the evening, so they are often used for banquets.

"It may be a little intimidating to enter, but once you do, it's a great place," says Assis, a staff member from Nepal. Assis' father is in the kitchen, and most of the restaurant's staff are from Nepal. The lively atmosphere and fun conversations with customers are also appealing.

Lunch set of one type of curry is 750 yen. The photo shows vegetable curry. You can choose between naan and rice, and refills of both are free.
Tandoori chicken is served on a hot iron plate for 2 pieces for 400 yen. It is spicy and goes well with alcohol.
"We're also proud of our low prices!" says Assis.

Tokyo Hana Sansho® (Tokyo Hana Sansho Circle R)

Tokyo Hana Sansho® opened along Otakebashi Street and moved to its current location in August 2024 after operating in Nakameguro. The restaurant's two signature dishes are dandan noodles and spicy ramen, with the dandan noodles served in the morning and the spicy noodles served at lunchtime and on weekend nights.

The spicy noodles are an original dish, and as you eat, starting with the olive oil at the front, the spiciness gradually emerges as it mixes with the chili oil at the back. "There's a sour taste hidden in the background, so try to find it as you eat," says owner Ikeda. Meanwhile, the tantan noodles are full of discoveries, with a pleasant aroma of Japanese pepper, a sesame flavor, the richness of miso, the umami of minced duck, and a hint of mustard, some of which you only notice when you're told about them. Both dishes are memorable, embodying the restaurant's concept of "a bowl full of movement." Not only can you discover flavors you've never tried before, but you can also enjoy tasting them with a sharpened palate.

Spicy noodles 1,200 yen. The curry-flavored CURRY Spicy noodles 1,200 yen are also popular.
Dandan noodles are 1,100 yen. They use as little animal fat as possible, so you can eat them in the morning without feeling heavy.
"We aim to create ramen that is delicate and young and sexy," says Ikeda (pictured right).
