Kitchen frying pan
Founded in 1978, this Western-style restaurant has been supporting the stomachs of Senju. The owner, Mr. Ito, is from Aizu Misato Town, Fukushima Prefecture, and his family owns a butcher shop, and the menu that makes use of his discerning eye and preparation techniques is the "Aizu Sauce Katsudon." The katsu, which is coated with raw breadcrumbs and soaked in a special sauce based on demi-glace sauce, is surprisingly soft, and the flavor of the pork and the mellowness of the sauce are a perfect match. Paired with shredded cabbage, it's a dish that will have you eating more and more rice.
The Aizu Sauce Katsudon menu has several varieties, including chicken and loin, with the extra large loin being twice the size of a regular item. "We started serving extra large loin after preparing it for a TV interview," says Ito. A few years ago, they added "Ito Shokudo's Sauce Katsudon," which inherited the flavor of the restaurant run by Ito's brother and his wife, which closed in 2019. The sauces and breadcrumbs are different, so it's recommended to try them and compare them.

Kiboshi Restaurant
Located in the Hanabatake housing complex in Adachi Ward, this long-established restaurant was founded around the same time the housing complex was completed in the 1970s. Originally it was a supermarket with a butcher and fishmonger, and it has been more than 20 years since it was transformed into its current restaurant form.
The "Sashimi Set Meal" where you can enjoy 4 to 6 kinds of fresh seafood is a magnificent dish with a generous serving of rice. The regular serving is 450g, and the large serving (+250 yen) is 800g, but most people finish it off in no time. The wall lined with menus is also spectacular, and the owner, Mr. Hasegawa, says, "We've cut down quite a bit. There used to be about 10 times as much." With a huge lineup of fried chicken, steak, tonkatsu, and omelet rice, it's hard to choose.
In recent years, they have introduced a children's omu-hamburger for families, which has always been popular. They also have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks and snacks, and a karaoke room inside the restaurant, so it looks like it would be fun to drink from lunchtime.

Downtown Gourmet Restaurant Katsumeshiya
This restaurant opened in 2018 and serves set meals such as fried chicken, tanmen, and motsunabe. The restaurant was opened by CEO Masaru Sekine, who has been involved in a variety of restaurants, in the same town as his home.
The famous "Jankara Set Meal" is a very satisfying dish that comes with Janjanyaki, pork and onion stir-fried in a special sauce, and a large fried chicken seasoned with umami salt. Just the aroma is enough to make you hungry. In addition to the umami salt flavor, you can also change the fried chicken to Korean flavor, green onion salt flavor, or grated ponzu flavor for an additional 100 yen.
According to Sekine, the concept is "being particular about not being particular about things." He says, "We look at things from various angles and respond flexibly. When it comes to cooking, it's basic, but we use fresh, safe and secure ingredients, and we pay careful attention to even the most basic things."
You can come here for a quick drink, or take away a bento box or a single item. It's a great place for everyday lunches and dinners, and is a great place to stop by on a daily basis.
